Karyotype
Chromosome set of an individual contained in each cell of the body. A detailed
analysis of the chromosomes will provide evidence of genetic abnormalities.
Rapid analysis can be obtained from blood and tissue. With amniotic fluid the
cells have to be grown for 2-3 weeks to provide a full analysis. It is tested
with a blood test
Klinefelterâs syndrome
A genetic disorder where there are three sex chromosomes. It affects men who
have XXY chromosome pattern. They are thin, tall and have small testes.They
have no sperm in the ejaculate and are therefore infertile.
